'Time traveller from 2671' shares earth-shattering predictions for this December
'Time traveller from 2671' shares earth-shattering predictions for this December
You might think the most stressful things on the cards this December are last-minute Christmas shopping and large family gatherings. But, if you believe the word of a mysterious self-styled “time traveller from the year 2671”, life is about to get a whole lot more chaotic. Apocalyptic weather events, secret underground communities and even the elixir of life await us in the coming weeks, according to Eno Alaric. In a TikTok, which has racked up 2.3 million views in just one week, he claimed we should all brace for the following events, starting next Monday… December 4 “A project known as ‘Extraction’ begins, where explorers find entire civilizations underground,” Alaric says. “It is run by Elon Musk, and what they find is truly incredible, there are intelligent species smarter than humans.” December 8 “A family of four megalodons are found at the bottom of the Mariana Trench,” he writes, referring to the giant shark species that became extinct millions of years ago. “This discovery leads to many other extinct species to be found, like the sabre tooth tiger and pterodactyls." December 19 “A new type of storm forms, called ‘Electric Hail’ where lightning and hail mix. “It causes the hail to shock and burn everything it touches, the worst are third-degree burns.” December 28 “Scientists discover a new fruit underground, it slows down ageing “Known as ‘Astrum’, whoever eats this adds 200 years to their lifetime, and only five of them can be eaten per person.” Well, at least it’s not all bad then, eh? Though, we’re not sure we’d want to live another 1,000 years in a world blighted by electric hail and resurrected monsters. @radianttimetraveler December is for the ones… #fyp #fypage #timetravel #timetraveler #radianttime #viral #xyzbca #entertainment Inevitably, these grand predictions have been met with ridicule by many, with a number insisting they’d rather just know when the latest Grand Theft Auto (GTA) game is going to be released. Some pedants even pointed out that the megalodon was a shallow-water shark which wouldn’t have been able to adapt to the deep waters of the Mariana Trench (the deepest part of the ocean) in just a few million years. And for anyone still needing reassurance that Alaric isn’t to be trusted, his previous outlandish claims have failed to pass. On October 3, for example, an alien ship was due to fall to Earth during a large meteor shower, containing a “hostile species”. “This alien escapes the pod as soon as it lands and begins to [wreak] havoc on large cities,” he said back in August. Then, on November 6, the Sun was supposed to “let out an unknown energy” that would cause a new type of disease, leading people to “lose control of their minds and act similar to zombies’.” @radianttimetraveler The issues of the end of 2023… #fyp #foryou #timetravel #timetraveler #radianttime #viral #xyzbca #entertainment All we can say is, our time-travelling friend has been sharing his apocalyptic accounts of the future since 2022, and we’re impressed with how much he’s come up with. If nothing else, he’s created ample fodder for sci-fi fans. Sign up for our free Indy100 weekly newsletter Have your say in our news democracy. YouTuber AngryGinge apologises for joining 'poverty' chant at Manchester United match
YouTuber AngryGinge has apologised after joining a “poverty” chant while attending a Manchester United game. The content creator has become a popular figure online over recent times and regularly hosts live streams based around football and gaming. He’s now responded after being criticised for singing along to a song during Manchester United’s 3-0 win against Everton over the weekend at Goodison Park. AngryGinge, real name Morgan Burtwistle, was accused of “mocking poverty” after taking part in the ‘feed the scousers’ chant. Since the backlash, the streamer has posted a video apologising on Twitter/X, adding the caption: “Genuinely sorry for changing that chant. I didn’t think about what it meant, and as someone who comes from that background, I feel your anger and can only apologize. Genuinely am disappointed in myself and am very sorry.” He also said: “I’m so sorry I sang that chant. I just got caught up in the moment and didn’t even think what it actually meant,” he said. AngryGinge explained that he understood people's frustrations as he came from a background where food poverty was prevalent. “I’m so sorry I sang it, genuinely I’m so sorry if I’ve offended you. I myself have come from that background 100 per cent, I have come up on a council state, £1 microwave meals every f***ing night,” he explained. “I 100 per cent feel with you and sympathise with you. I’m so sorry I’ve said that. I genuinely meant nothing by it. I got caught up, I was singing the chants.” He went on to say: “I’m deeply deeply so sorry if I’ve offended. I’m so disappointed, to be honest. I’m just so apologetic, I understand your anger 100 per cent. It’s f***ing wrong, it is.” Sign up for our free Indy100 weekly newsletter How to join the indy100's free WhatsApp channel Have your say in our news democracy. Conspiracy theories swirl as McDonald’s opens branch in ‘middle of field’ with no electricity
The opening of a McDonald's has sparked conspiracy theories after it's location was revealed to be the middle of the Canadian countryside. "Officially open for business. Our staff awaits you at our new restaurant at 8075 Marcel-Villeneuve, Laval," the restaurant wrote on Facebook. McDonalds' Jéremy Lévy said: "I am delighted to be involved with the community of Saint-François on the occasion of this opening. Growing up with a father who is also a McDonald's franchisee, I have had the opportunity to see him actively involved in the communities in which he operates his restaurants. Today, I am very excited to follow in his footsteps and get involved in the same way." However, the location has gone viral after a TikTok was uploaded by user @thumbs.up.canuck. The creator noticed the McDonald's and was left confused after seeing where it was situated, and claimed it didn't even appear to have electricity. @thumbs.up.canuck McDiesel fumes #mcdonalds #crazy "It's literally in the middle of farm field," they said. "It's surrounded by farm, and there's not even electricity yet. They're running the damn place on a generator! That's crazy!" After being viewed over 37,000 times, conspiracy theories have begun blooming from the video. "Then you know what's coming they wouldn't put it there for nothing," one user claimed. A second added: "In two years it will be surrounded by houses strategically planned." "All the surrounding farms are about to be purchased and sold to developers", a third comment read. Recruiter shares 3 things you should lie about in every job interview
Recruiter shares 3 things you should lie about in every job interview
Honesty is the “best policy,” we’re told. Well, apparently not when it comes to job hunting. Sure, fabricating achievements on your CV will inevitably come back to bite you on the backside but there are certain instances where erring from the truth is vital to your success, according to a recruitment influencer. Bonnie Dilber has amassed a loyal following on TikTok thanks to her tips and tricks about securing employment. And yet, her most viral video isn’t about the right template to use for resumés, but a list of the three things that we should all “lie about in every interview”. They are as follows… 1. Negative relationships with colleagues In the clip, Bonnie explains: “If you are leaving your job because you really dislike it because you don't get along with your boss or your colleagues, you're gonna lie about this. “Please do not tell them that your boss doesn't like you. Don't tell them that everyone's really hard to work with. All they're gonna hear when you say that is that you are difficult. “Instead, you're gonna say something like, ‘Things are going great, but I wanna take on bigger challenges’.” 2. Why you really want the job The head hunter acknowledges that “100 per cent of people who want a job want it for the money and benefits”. But, she says, you shouldn’t admit that to your potential future employer – to do so would be a “big red flag”. Instead, she recommends: “You are gonna tell them why you're passionate about the company's mission, why this job is your life's work, and you are just such a good fit for the culture of this company. 3. Your plans for the future “I don't care if you are starting grad school in six months and just need this job as filler. I don't care if this job pays half of what you're used to making and you are gonna jump ship as soon as you find something better. When they ask you about your plans for the next five years, your plans are to be at that company,” Bonnie says. “Your plans are to come in, knock it out of the park in this role, and continue to grow as opportunities arise.” Concluding her advice, the TikToker stressed: “Recruiters are not dumb. We know that if everything was awesome at your current job, you wouldn't be leaving. We know that you are in it for the money and the benefits. We know that you believe if there is better money and better benefits [you’ll go] somewhere else – but those are universal things. “So if you can't differentiate yourself from the crowd, if you can't come up with anything better than those really basic things, if you don't have the critical thinking to know that those aren't going to be very attractive to an employer, then it's gonna be hard for a recruiter to move you forward in their process.” @bonniedilber Companies want to hire top talent that will grow with them over time. Here are three things you're going to want to lie about to present yourself in this way. #interviewtips #jobseekers #jobsearch #interviews #recruiting #careertok Her recommendations have proved divisive among viewers, with a number insisting they find such tactics demoralising. “This corporate Hunger Games is exhausting,” one wrote. “I don’t have a passion. I don’t want a career. I want a job so I can live. That’s all. I don’t wanna play all these games,” admitted another. “What does it say about employers that they want to hire the best liars?” asked a third. While a fourth lamented: “Lying is an executive function skill. Knowing when and how to lie is essential to survive our current hellscape.” Sign up for our free Indy100 weekly newsletter Have your say in our news democracy. Woman sparks debate by looking after children on a plane while her husband relaxes
Woman sparks debate by looking after children on a plane while her husband relaxes
A woman has sparked debate after revealing that she takes care of the kids on a flight while her husband gets to sit back and relax. It’s no secret that in heterosexual relationships women are more likely to take on the majority of unpaid labour, including child care, cooking and cleaning. One wife sparked outrage after revealing she made her husband a second dinner after he refused to eat the first one she prepared for him, and now another husband has come under fire for letting his wife do all the child care. In a viral Instagram video, influencer Maria Roberts shared a clip showing her sitting in between her two children on a flight, taking care of them and making sure they were settled. The clip then showed her husband, Lou, who sat across the aisle and appeared to be watching his screen without a care in the world. Roberts captioned the post: “As Lou likes to say, ‘I would switch with you, but they refuse to sit next to me’.” The video has been viewed 18.5 million times and in the comments section, Instagrammers debated the unequal workload between the husband and wife. One person commented: “I cannot believe that in 2023 women still accept this behaviour.” Someone else added: “I hate that this is still a standard we are promoting. Even young children can learn that Dad is a good option and don’t need to always be with [their] mom. Please for the love of God stop reinforcing that dads are incapable.” Another commented: “Nope, nope, nope… I did this one time. After that, I bought two seats together, one row behind the other. He got one kid and they had their own bag of snacks and activities and I had the other. I was never doing that again.” “The headphones in is so triggering lol,” another pointed out. Viral response to man’s ‘perfect’ gawking at woman is frankly disturbing
Viral response to man’s ‘perfect’ gawking at woman is frankly disturbing
You might not think that a man ogling a woman is particularly news or praise-worthy, but tens of millions of people disagree. A TikTok posted by an Italian influencer has gone stratospherically viral, not because of anything she’s doing, but because of the apparently laudable restraint shown by an admirer. In the video, model and dancer Barbara Gambatesa is trying on a skin-tight suit in a tailor’s shop, right by a door leading onto the street. A passer-by spots her and stops to have a look, shamelessly lingering and seemingly overwhelmed by her curvaceous beauty. Puffing on a cigarette while tilting his head to soak her up from different angles, he eventually turns around, walks away and carries on with his life. But rather than criticise the man for such blatant gawking, social media users have been gushing in their praise for his “perfect” behaviour. “He looked. He admired. He stole one more look, then simply went about his business. That's how you look at a beautiful person,” one X/Twitter user commented. This particular post was viewed more than 33.8 million times in three days, as fellow commentators shared their appreciation for the man’s response. “I know someone is going to ruin the moment and call him a perv when truly he did everything right,” one wrote. “[Admiring] without violating something so beautiful.” Another agreed, applauding him for not taking things too far: “He just looked at her with admiration, without disturbing or harassing her.” A third admitted: “Every man has been in this position before,” before implying that the man would come to regret not “shooting his shot.” Meanwhile, others shared how they would have reacted in the moment, with one boasting: “I’m the type that would’ve respectfully told her how gorgeous she is, and then went about my day.” So, to be clear, this man is being celebrated for not “harassing” or “violating” a woman who was a total stranger to him. Yeah, bravo, man. And bravo, the internet. Fortunately, some viewers haven’t totally lost the plot, with one pointing out: “He creepily paced and stared at her debating if he should harass her or not, let’s not get it twisted.” Meanwhile, a psychologist fumed: “Praising a man for looking at a woman’s butt and not harassing her? When has society’s standards become this low?" Carly Dober, who specialises in the emotional wellbeing of young women, stressed that condoning such behaviour fuels the idea that women owe men something, according to the New York Post. “While restraint or holding back might be being celebrated by some men, that attitude might reinforce the belief that women are solely there to be accessed for pleasure by men, or to get attention from men and that they are being the ‘bigger person’ in not going out of their way to hit on women,” she said. “Culturally, some men still also think that women wearing particular clothes or presenting themselves in certain ways still demands attention from the opposite sex. This is still something that needs to change.” Sign up for our free Indy100 weekly newsletter Have your say in our news democracy. Woman learns her boyfriend is cheating during his proposal
Woman learns her boyfriend is cheating during his proposal
Receiving a marriage proposal from the person you love is supposed to be one of life’s great joys. But for one woman, that triumph swiftly transformed into trauma as she learned of her partner’s infidelity just as he was popping the question. Tiffany Lyn shared her jaw-dropping story to TikTok, racking up more than 1.8 million views and 200,000 likes in just two days. In the first of two clips, she explained that she had been with her then-boyfriend for two years and, although she was “madly in love with him”, didn’t feel that they were ready for marriage. Nevertheless, one day he decided to surprise her and took her to Orlando for “a little bit of fun at the amusement parks”. Once they got there, he signed up to be a contestant in a competition that was being staged there. “So right before the show is about to start, and he's about to start to compete, he hands me over his cell phone and says, ‘Babe, please film this, I want you to see what's going to happen,’” Tiffany recounted. “And I'm just like, ‘Oh my gosh, this is so cute. How much fun! Like, this is my dream come true.” The contest then kicked off, during which the boyfriend took on three or four challenges, and won. “So here I am with his little cell phone filming, all excited, all proud of my man,” she continued. But, just then: “He starts to receive text messages that are popping up on the screen. “The text messages turned out to be from his mistress that he's been messing with the whole time we are together.” Tiffany explained that the so-called mistress was clearly really angry in her texts, suggesting that the boyfriend had messaged her just hours before to call things off. “I guess that morning he had texted her to let her know like, ‘Hey, it's over between us because I'm about to get engaged today,’” the TikToker said, adding: “And she threw a s**t fit even though she herself was married.” Returning to that earth-shattering moment, she went on: “At this point, my heart absolutely drops and I want to vomit. “And I'm sitting here in a crowd with hundreds of people, maybe even thousands of people, trying to keep my hands steady and filming what's happening as he's proposing and announcing it to this whole freaking stadium full of people. “But I really know what's happening as I'm seeing these texts flash across the screen.” She then stressed that she’s “not the type of girl that likes it when people see [them] sweat” and so, since the proposal had been blasted all over the big screen and all the onlookers were "so excited" for her, she maintained her composure, exited the stadium, and waited for her partner outside. “Once he shows up, he immediately gives me a huge hug, tells me that he loves me, and of course, does the proposal again to my face,” she recalled. However, there were still “so many people watching” so she quickly grabbed him and dragged him into the nearest restaurant in the theme park she could find. Reliving the scene, she went on: “I bring him over to the bar area and I sit him down and I tell him everything that I know. He didn't try to deny [it], he knew that he was caught. And for the next 30 minutes, he proceeded to just tell me everything that he thought I wanted to hear, and I was just numb. “The only words that I can manage to muster up at this point were, ‘Baby this two-carat diamond ring. It's just not gonna be enough’.” @tiffanylyynn Cheating Fiance Story time. What would you have done?! #cheater #cheatingboyfriend #cheatingfiance #datingstorytime #datingnightmares #datinglife #datingover40 #datingover40ishard #datinginyour30s #datingover30 #datingover40 @Tiffany Lyn On that note, Tiffany ended her story; waiting a day before posting a part two. In the second clip, she revealed that she “didn’t say yes” and so they drove home the same day “in awkward silence.” “But about two days later, the unhealed version of myself that I was, I agreed to put the ring on and play fiancée,” she admitted. “Maybe two or three months at the most went by after that proposal and, of course, we fell apart,” she continued. “He was never gonna win my trust back. It was never gonna work. I had so much invested in this relationship that it was really hard to break it off immediately. Again, we're human and I'm not messy. So I really tried to give it a go.” But, she confessed: “It took about two years and $10,000 (£7,922) of therapy just to finally be right again with myself.” She went on to share that she had returned the ring to her now-ex because she “didn’t want anything from him” and felt that it was “tainted”. “The best thing I ever did was leave that relationship with my head held high,” she stressed. “And, ultimately, I educated myself with all tools that I needed to make sure that I never associated with another man like that ever again. “Proof in point, he's never had a single successful relationship after that. He married someone after me, lasted about a year, and anything he's ever done since then, it's all gone. “His life is miserable. I didn't have to do that to him, he did that to himself.” @tiffanylyynn Failed Marriage Proposal part 2! @Tiffany Lyn #storytime #cheater #cheatingboyfriend #cheattok #cheatingfiance #datingstorytime #nightmare #susistory Fellow TikTokers were quick to voice their support for Tiffany, who revealed that the whole thing had happened some 10 years ago and that she was now in a “very loving relationship.” “LOOOOOVEEE how you presented this for how it was. It’s so hard to let go after investing so much,” one wrote. “I’m glad [you] kept using the phrase ‘we are human’ because that is so true,” added another. “It’s easy to say [what you’d do] over comments but it’s gonna be harder when it’s your relationship.” Meanwhile, others shared their own harrowing experiences, with one writing: “I caught my [ex] banging my [ex] best friend on my kitchen table. “I was holding my [two-year-old] son while pregnant [with] my youngest daughter when I walked into that.” And others insisted that she should have kept the engagement ring, with one suggesting she should have sold it to pay for her therapy. She conceded: “Sometimes I do regret not selling the ring and just taking myself on a magical vacation… but I didn't. So that's my story. “All I can say is learn as much as you possibly can about narcissists and protect yourself against them.” Sign up for our free Indy100 weekly newsletter Have your say in our news democracy. Car crashes into woman's house as she sits 'crying' on Thanksgiving
Footage of the moment a car crashed into a garage where a girl was sitting on Thanksgiving has gone viral. Sometimes near-misses need to be caught on camera to be believed because they are so unlikely. That was certainly the case for one woman who had a lucky escape when she was smoking and crying in her garage on Thanksgiving, just as a car crashed into it. X/Twitter user @littoladyluck shared unbelievable footage of a car accidentally reversing into her garage as she was filming a video. Two different clips showed what happened from inside the garage where she was “chilling” and from outside the garage as the accident occurred. In the caption, she explained: “I was chilling in the garage on Thanksgiving crying and smoking by myself listening to Mitski and a car crashed right into it… I can’t make this up.” The first video showed her sitting in her garage when all of a sudden there was a loud crash as the garage door was slammed into. In the second video, taken from an external camera, a white car was reversing and appeared to become out of control as it picked up more and more speed. The car first struck a palm tree that fell down and continued reversing until it struck the garage that @littoladyluck was in. The post has been viewed over 6 million times and viewers were equally shocked and amused by the situation, particularly given that the woman had the clown filter on as she was recording. “Girls aren’t allowed to do literally anything,” one person joked. Another commented: “It’s the filter and the zero survival instinct for me.” Someone else added: “Imagine them using this video as evidence in court.” Thankfully, @littoladyluck appeared physically unharmed by the incident. Who is AI pop star Anna Indiana?
Who is AI pop star Anna Indiana?
AI “singer-songwriter” Anna Indiana launched her first song and it has not gone down very well at all. Artificial intelligence is a huge area for growth in technology, but its abilities are causing concern among those in the creative industries. Musicians such as Drake and The Weeknd have had their distinctive voices essentially copied by the technology in order to create a brand-new AI-generated song that they had no hand in making. Now a new artist going by the name of Anna Indiana has launched and she, and her music, is made entirely from AI. Who is Anna Indiana? Anna Indiana is an artificially generated music artist who recently launched on X/Twitter. Her initials, AI, signify her artificial intelligence origin as everything from her look to the music itself with made with AI technology. In a post on X/Twitter, the artist shared a three-and-a-half-minute-long video appearing to show her, depicted as a young white woman, recording the song in a music studio. The caption explained: “Hello world! I’m Anna Indiana and I’m an AI singer-songwriter. Here’s my first song, 'Betrayed by this Town'. “Everything from the key, tempo, chord progression, melody notes, rhythm, lyrics, and my image and singing, is auto-generated using AI. I hope you like it.” The song, Betrayed by this Town, is a pop ballad sung by a female-sounding voice, with lyrics referencing how they were sitting in a cafe drinking tea and thinking about a male partner who betrayed them. It’s fair to say people weren’t too impressed with the song or the general idea of using AI in place of real human creativity. One person commented: “Nice demonstration of what music would sound like if all creativity and passion was removed. I’m sure my microwave will love listening to this.” Real-life musician James Blake mocked the video, writing: “This brought me to tears. I’m so excited for the future.” “I used to think AI was a threat, not anymore,” someone else explained. Another claimed: “No one on Earth wants this technology. Use AI to make drudgery easier, not to ruin activities we enjoy.” “This is trash,” one X/Twitter user simply wrote. It’s unclear who is behind the AI creation, but there were a few positive comments for them to cling on to. Someone argued: “Good Lord such nearsighted comments. It was only a year ago the ChatGPT debuted. It has come this far. Yes it is crude. Come back in a year.” How to join the indy100's free WhatsApp channel Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter Have your say in our news democracy. 'Scrooging' is the horrible new dating trend to look out for
'Scrooging' is the horrible new dating trend to look out for
The festive season might seem like to perfect opportunity to get snuggly with a significant other, but daters have been urged to look out for a toxic dating trend called “Scrooging” that could end in heartbreak. Modern dating is full of potential hurdles and pitfalls, as new dating trends like “phubbing” and the “penny dating method” come along. The latest trend that could make a budding relationship end in disaster is Scrooging and it is specifically linked to Christmas. Scrooging happens when a person dumps their partner right before Christmas to get out of buying them a present. Unsurprisingly, the name of the toxic trend gets its name from Ebenezer Scrooge – the grumpy character from Charles Dickens’ 1843 book A Christmas Carol – who hates Christmas. According to experts, people who are willing to dump someone over a gift may have other red flag traits that are best avoided. Times Now suggests Scroogers may do it because they don’t see anything long-term with their partner and therefore are unwilling to spend money on them. They may also display other selfish traits such as not wanting to meet their partner’s friends and family and being self-centred and unwilling to invest quality time. Scrooging may also be used as an excuse to start over in the New Year with a new partner that they are perhaps more interested in pursuing. So, in the lead-up to Christmas, if Scrooging is a concern in your relationship, it might be a good idea to pay closer notice to your partner’s attention levels to see if they are becoming distant. But, as is the case in all relationships, communication is key – if you suspect you’re about to get dumped at Christmas, communicate with them to see where you stand as a couple. Model drops jaws with list of '118 reasons not to have kids'
Model drops jaws with list of '118 reasons not to have kids'
Having kids is not easy. It requires a huge deal of sacrifice, compromise and patience and can sometimes feel like a pretty thankless task. And yet, not everyone feels comfortable admitting that they’d prefer to avoid such trials and tribulations by simply not becoming a parent. Enter Ellie Gonsalves, an Australian model and influencer who has sparked a fierce internet debate by sharing every single reason why she has chosen to remain “child free”. The L'Oréal ambassador posted her 118-point-long list to Instagram, explaining: “Societal pressure when it comes to this topic are (sic) truly questionable and I believe unfair towards those with differing opinions. “Very rarely do we see a voice in support of this… because let's face it, the public backlash can be too much.” Her arguments against starting a family include the risk that a child can “turn into a rapist”; that “they can poo inside you” and that you are “more susceptible to yeast infections while pregnant”. The full list is as follows: Inevitably, her catalogue proved divisive among readers, with one woman commenting: “Your 'list' on why you don't want kids are (sic) all negative, but how about the positives? The Positives completely outweigh. “Of course, it's a person's choice as to whether they want to be a parent,” she added. “But a lot of your list were (sic) very vain reasons [in my opinion].” Another added: “So much fear. Better not to have kids if that's what you will instil into them anyway. Gosh, so many self-centred people in this world.” However, others defended Gonsalves, with one asking: “Am I seriously reading comments from women who are offended by your decision..? What’s wrong with people?!?!. “It’s 1milliion percent (sic) your choice- end of story. I really don’t understand people sometimes.” And another said: “I’m with you. I’m 40, don’t have kids, and never wanted kids (...) I had a coworker ask me once, ‘If you don’t have kids, who’s going to take care of you when you’re old?’ I remember thinking, (and still do), that that’s a selfish reason to HAVE kids.” In her statement accompanying the list, the 32-year-old said that she had received “hundreds of DMs criticizing me [and telling] me how much of a horrible and broken person that I am.” She insisted that whilst some of the points she included are “satirical”, “many are serious and factual.” She added: “As someone in a 15-year relationship, I have [been asked whether I want kids] for almost that entire time and it’s probably the most frequent [question] I get.” She then said she could count “on one hand” the number of times people posing the question have been respectful and understanding of her views. Still, she stressed that she was glad that her message had resonated with so many women. “It's been nice to read hundreds of comments from people who feel seen, people who have also had uncomfortable moments where others have questioned their choice and all that has done is made them feel awful or uncomfortable,” she told Mamamia. She also said that the fury her list had provoked simply reinforced her argument. “People are sold a certain life,” she noted. “And when they witness others choosing a different path, the frustration lies within themselves.” Sign up for our free Indy100 weekly newsletter Have your say in our news democracy. Harry Potter fans have just found a secret theme to the series' opening credits
Harry Potter fans have just found a secret theme to the series' opening credits
Anybody of a certain age will remember binge-watching the eight Harry Potter movies – but fans are still discovering Easter eggs in the films. One of those is something the producers slipped into the iconic Warner Bros opening credits, and it’s glaringly obvious once you’ve noticed it. With each new movie, it turns out the Warner Bros logo becomes darker and darker, until, by the last film, it is a threatening, inky black. The changes reflect the tone of the stories with each instalment. The first one, Harry Potter and the Philosoper’s Stone, is a family-friendly classic. It’s certainly a far cry from the spooky – and sometimes downright terrifying – final films, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows parts one and two. In the opening credits to the final movie, even the metallic Warner Bros logo is growing rusty, and the material is starting to peel off. @fredthedeadtwin The movies were getting darker too #drafts #greenscreen #hpmovies #harrypotter #sorcerersstone #deathlyhallows #hogwarts #hptiktok #GenshinImpact32 #foryoupage #fyp As the evil wizard Voldemort grew stronger with each film, the wizarding world got more dangerous, and Daniel Radcliffe’s character’s plight became more and more dangerous. Viewers couldn’t escape the fact that, for young Potter fans, it somehow reflected how life gets more serious as we get older. One person wrote on social media: “It's like my life. First years are the best, but the older I get, the darker life gets.” Another person said: “Did they forget that it’s a children’s movie?” A third person demanded answers. They said: “There needs to be more info about this. Was this planned? It starts getting dark literally on the second WB sign.” And a fourth, slightly happier, commenter, added: “This just made me so happy I need to go on another Harry Potter marathon.” Each to their own, it seems.
